Matthew brings political analysis and research experience from diverse roles in the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations in Canada and abroad. His background in law and politics helps him understand the importance of looking beyond complex issues to take into account tactical considerations, public policy, and reputational risk management.
Before joining McMillan Vantage, Matthew held public affairs and communications roles at the Canada China Business Council and CPP Investments, working closely with C-suite executives and Boards to navigate regulatory and policy hurdles and foster relationships with domestic and foreign governments. As a former Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee (CJPAC) Fellow, Matthew is also actively involved in politics. He has worked in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition in Ontario and on various municipal, provincial, and federal nominations, campaigns, and leadership races.
Matthew is a J.D. Candidate (2023) at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, where he was a Research Assistant in the areas of internet and e-commerce law to Professor Michael Geist. He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Political Science from Western University and a Chinese Language Certificate from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
