Shemar Hackett

Shemar is an Associate at McMillan Vantage, bringing years of experience engaging in policy analysis, research, and advocacy.

Prior to joining McMillan Vantage, Shemar worked as the Research and Policy Analyst for the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA), a non-profit that serves over 150,000 students in the province. While in the role, he was responsible for the development of several policy files including Indigenous Students’ Education, Post-Secondary Affordability, and Housing, Transit and Community Development.

After obtaining his master’s degree in Political Management, he worked as a consultant in Ottawa supporting clients in the technology and financial services sector. Leveraging his previous knowledge and newly refined skillset, he simultaneously worked as a Freelance Writer at IPolitics Intel, providing reports on House of Commons and Senate committee meetings to clients.

Shemar is originally from Toronto and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Psychology from McMaster University and a minor in Religious Studies.
