As a Vice President at McMillan Vantage, Jonathan (Jono) Kalles leads client files across multiple sectors, including natural resources and critical minerals, technology and AI, defence, agri-food, finance and insurance, and infrastructure. He also specializes in supporting clients in highly regulated industries and international companies looking to enter the Canadian market.
With over two decades working both in government and in federal, provincial and municipal government relations and public affairs, Jono has built relationships with key political and business stakeholders in Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa and across Canada. Jono is fully bilingual and has a keen understanding of the machinery of government and regulatory frameworks.
Prior to joining McMillan Vantage, Jono served as Quebec advisor to former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. This followed time as a senior Quebec advisor to a number of federal ministers. He has been active in political campaigns in Quebec for over 30 years and was senior member of the Quebec war room for the 2019 Liberal Party of Canada campaign team.
Jono is a regular panelist on CBC’s Power & Politics and is also a contributor on CTV News and CJAD Radio in Montreal, as well as Radio-Canada in French. He has also served on a number of charitable and non-profit boards. Jono holds a BA in Political Science and History and graduated with Common and Civil Law degrees from McGill University. He is also a member of the Quebec Bar and practiced corporate and commercial law in Montréal.
