Joshua Marando

Josh Marando is a government relations and public policy advisor with expertise in regulatory strategy, legislative affairs, and evidence-based advocacy. He works with clients across the natural resources, clean technology, life sciences, technology and consumer products, and financial services sectors, helping organizations navigate policy complexity and advance their goals through strategic engagement with government.

Josh combines a strong research foundation with policy fluency to communicate complex ideas with precision and impact. Before joining Vantage, he worked at the Ontario Ministry of Infrastructure, where he supported intergovernmental programs through financial modelling, cross-jurisdictional research, and quantitative analysis. He is skilled at working with large datasets, translating technical material into decision-ready insights.

Josh also brings deep experience in strategic communications, with a focus on narrative development and public positioning grounded in policy, social impact, and mission alignment. He helps clients articulate their purpose, translate complex ideas for broad audiences, and communicate effectively across government, stakeholder, and public channels. His work ensures client messaging aligns with political and regulatory expectations, withstands scrutiny, and resonates with key audiences.

Josh brings significant governance experience, currently serving on the Boards of the Ontario SPCA and the Durham Humane Society. While at McMaster University, he was elected President of the McMaster Students Union and held several senior leadership roles, including Chair of the Boards of MSU Inc. and CFMU Inc., and member of the University’s Board of Governors and Senate. He holds a Master of Public Policy from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto and an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science in Biochemistry from McMaster University.
