Matthew Gagné

Matthew advances his client’s business objectives through engaging governments and decision makers in Ottawa, Ontario, and the Atlantic provinces. Serving clients in key sectors spanning natural resources, housing, financial services, and life sciences, he provides in-depth engagement planning and analyzes complex policy changes to maximize the impact of their government relations efforts.

With a strong pulse on legislative activity nationwide, Matthew spearheads McMillan Vantage’s latest MVmonitor offering, designed to provide clients with efficient, tailored, and cost-effective legislative monitoring so they are aware of critical developments when they need it most.

Before joining our team, Matthew worked in the finance industry, providing personalized recommendations by understanding clients’ unique backgrounds, opportunities, and challenges.

Matthew is also deeply engaged in political organizing. Currently, he serves as Regional Vice President for the Ontario Liberal Party in Eastern Ontario, coordinating party strategy, engagement initiatives, and local outreach. Previously, as Vice-Chair of the Youth Campaign for Bonnie Crombie’s leadership bid, he helped develop province-wide youth engagement strategies, organized successful youth turnout efforts, and created French-language messaging for Franco-Ontarian communities. Matthew has supported multiple campaigns at both provincial and federal levels, offering strategic advice, stakeholder engagement, and communications planning.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in history from Carleton University and is a proud Maritimer, born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick.
