David

David is an experienced, bilingual executive with a broad range of leadership skills including agility required for real time decision making, team building and consensus building across multiple stakeholders. David held Ministerial level responsibility in three government departments requiring expert knowledge of governance, intergovernmental and public relations, regulatory process and compliance, contracts, cabinet memos and public relations. He has a depth of experience in leading teams in complex change environments with strengths in both private and public sectors.

Until July 2018, David served as the Chief of Staff to the Leader of Canada’s Official Opposition. As such, he was the most senior officer within the Canadian Federal Conservative political apparatus. David held the primary responsibility for operations of the Leader’s Office including budgeting, media relations, strategic communications, stakeholder management, caucus services, policy, research, and human resources and managed a staff of over 80 people. This position held direct oversight of the liaison between the Leader’s Office and the Conservative Party of Canada Board and Executive.

Previously, David served as Chief of Staff to three Ministers in the Canadian Federal Government including Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, Heritage Canada, and Natural Resources Canada. As the most senior officer and advisor to these Ministers, David oversaw all staff, acted as chief political advisor, and as senior director of all administrative activities. David was the primary interface with senior bureaucracy (Deputy Minister and ADM’s), the Prime Minister’s Office, and managed external relationships with a broad range of diverse and complex stakeholders.

David is a person who thrives in an environment of escalating performance demands. He has a reputation as a builder of high-performance teams, developing talent and accomplishing outcomes in the most challenging of circumstances while maintaining a high level of integrity.
